Bump in the Dark was a very personal game to me in that it was a place for me to explore themes that are important to me, interrogate aspects of my youth and the media that was important to me. EMBERS started as an attempt to work out my feelings about Star Wars ...

....but is shaping up to also be about trauma, indoctrination, and identity. In Bump, the powers-that-be can are crushing but you can triumph over them; in EMBERS, power is totalizing and one of the central questions is whether it can be escaped, since it can't be defeated in the traditional sense.

(if you want to make your game about overthrowing the empire, I think you could do that, but I don't think it is the default campaign frame; maybe there will be different campaign playsets/series playbooks)
