This week’s main story is about the upcoming presidential election in Brazil, how a new member of the Bolsonaro family could wind up in power, and why we should all hope the people of Brazil avoid – to borrow a phrase – “same shit, new toilet.”

Bolsonazi's son's win will enable an immediate pardon of his father. (Duh).. This could be a foreshadowing of our future. The pardon power of our president needs to be stricken from the US Constitution it's been mis-used too many times and strips the power from ordinary courts and juries. Enough!

My worse paranoia A Toilet Saga "I firmly reject big plumbings endorsement of plunger" Plunger are shit John Oliver🧐 And people are something Thanks for allowing my toilet humor🤓 *Listening to Smartless/SethMyers #ToiletBrushPush 💩

The funny part of the side story with Tuberville at the beginning is the large number of furry aviators posting pics of themselves in their cockpit wearing their fursuit head. Shockingly not as many birds as I would have thought.

For anyone wondering how literal “a new member of the Bolsonaro family” is: Flávio Bolsonaro, Jair’s son, is one of 12 candidates for president. Brazil’s first round is October 4. Political sequels really do move fast.

I absolutely hope Lula wins, but I am angered by the fact that yet another octogenarian politician is putting so much at risk by failing to plan for a successor. The hubris of these politicians who think they are the only ones that can do the job is appalling and dangerous.

Unfortunately, the screenwriters didn't seem to understand Lula's importance as a world leader fighting fascist institutions, both Brazilian and North American, but again, that's the US take on the rest of the world, isn't it? Disappointed, but not surprised.

- I do have to make a comment on the bit in the episode about the "too big dog", oh-NO! John, I must most-strenuously DISAGREE with you! The noble and majestic Great Pyrenees can-NOT ever be too big! They are PURE-Good, luv and heart and there can NEVER be too much of them!
