A couple people at a studio of ~50 using an LLM as little more than a batch script generator is such a comically insignificant use of this technology. If you're not using duckduckgo with the AI toggle off, you are likely doing more harm than this described usage every time you google something.

I'm not saying this justifies using the tech, but jfc could the response to things like this be at least nominally proportional to the actual infraction? This is giving me flashbacks to vegan "friends" in college crucifying someone in the group over keeping pet chickens and giving away the eggs.

Are they guilty of violating some ambiguously defined moral compact? Maybe? But are you even asking that question in good faith? Consider that your conceptions of what counts as Breaking The Rules could be slightly different, and maybe you're being a bit hasty to declare them Evil Lying Scumbags.

I was aLleDgEdLy fired from Unity for being too adversarial about our AI usage years before most people even knew what a ChatGPT was. I'm not uninformed or milquetoast about this stuff, so when I earnestly say "you're being a cop," maybe consider whether your crusade is legitimately justified, idk.

The temperature around this stuff is _pretty high_! I think some people see their path to victory (no llms exist anymore somehow) through blocking. makes sense when your job is being a streamer and thats a big lever you have.
