About a year ago, I started to work with @nuevotokyo.bsky.social on what would become VWFNDR™ + MBL: a camera app for Android (soon iOS) made with @nuxt.com and Capacitor. We released it to the public in May. Today, two months later, we just crossed 100K downloads and 1M photos taken. Thanks 🖤🟥

ohhhh im also making a capacitor app that has a feature to shoot photos directly in the app im using capacitor-community/camera-preview for it, but snapping a pic lags more than your app, what plugin did you use? the app is gorg btw!

Thanks! tl;dr there's a thousand ways Android let's you operate the camera. Because we needed full control and particular features (e.g. C2PA signing, DNG capture with derived JPEG, etc.), we wrote our own plugin and a lot of Java

iirc the camera preview plugin is tailored to work on all devices, so it uses a simple setup with no optimization (like skipping precapture sequences when exposure already converged, etc.)
