America needs to put its crash helmet on and strap itself in for a totally different type of election in Nov. The GOP is committed to abandoning the Constitution for Trump. The GOP will help him wreak havoc on the election system nationwide on November 3 through January 3 and beyond if needed.

Naaaw... There's no police presence/violence going on in cities across the u.s.(unless ice starts it of course) so there's no reason for any other military presence at the polls. Plus, our military are aware of what's really going on. They're being used as pawns. This too shall pass. Fear mongering.

There are hoards of attorneys and election officials who are 2020 deniers — who will be involved in elections across the country. When these folks start refusing to certify elections…🤷‍♂️

Trump never had principles to trade for power. Trump's greed and ego was a perfect fit to push the Reagan (now MAGA) agenda forward. Nothing new, Republicans just found their perfect idiot. GOP was lost at Nixon and the roots of democracy destruction, racism and money hoarding began in the 1980s.

They did not lose the party. They sold it. Principles traded for a front row seat and a loyalty oath, and now the cult runs the whole joint. The old GOP is not dead. It is just wearing a red hat and screaming at the furniture.

That's what the GOP has been about since Nixon. Don't pretend like Trump wasn't the inevitable outcome of the GOP philosophy.

If the old GOP had any principles in the first place they never would have surrendered to this criminal and morally bankrupt regime. This wasn’t a takeover of the “old GOP”, it was an exposure.

No, they were always unprincipled scumbags, Donnie just unleashed them by showing how any rules can be ignored because there are no consequences

If we lost the old racist GOP, I'm very happy. Old and new GOP are the same just that the more extremists Republicans are now MAGA Republicans and emboldened racista under Trump dictatorial regime.

OMG this is sooo true. Ike was the last one! And he had a hard time choosing between running as a Republican or a Democrat which leads me to believe he saw the rot even back then. Being Ike he probably hoped he could fix it and that decency could win. After all he’d been through WW2 ..

I agree. But also letting Rush Limbaugh be their propaganda machine. And Fox News setting their agenda and candidates. That morphed into all liberals are evil and enemies of the state. Very ugly grab for power. Now it’s crashing. The old GOP is never coming back.

It's all so simply fundamental. Afterall, now he's got a set of skinny blond twins and he's prefectly free to oogle maleAss right out in public.

Is that the “principle” of trading arms for hostages? Interfering in the Paris Peace Talks? Working to delay the release of Iranian hostages until after the 1980 election? Sending Colin Powell to lie about WMDs at the UN? Help a brother out here.

And preaching balanced budgets while handing out massive tax cuts to corporations and the ultra wealthy. Or preaching smaller government while expanding executive power and surveillance.

The fourth last word on this clip is the real soul of it all - 'SANE' ... The republicans just had to give up all Sanity, and pledge total obedience to each and every crazy thought that crossed his mind!

The old GOP when Nancy Reagan ran it? Come on... They have been the grifting old party for many many years. It has always been about the money/power for them. Trump just opened the flood gates. Its just a newer form of trickle down economics they have created.

I believe the GOP was always a minority of the eligible voters and that they used every dirty political trick in the book to hold on to power, including reaching out to voters they despise. It’s finally catching up to them .

No. The GOP has, at least since the time of the Southern Strategy been squarely focused on oligarchy, white supremacy, and above all absolute totalitarian power. This is nothing new, and I have watched it be so for the past 66 years. Trump is just the crown on a long running project.

You were right with your book, “It Was All a Lie,” Stuart. Republicans never cared about anything but wealth and power. The last great Republican president was Teddy Roosevelt, and the last good Republican president was Dwight Eisenhower. The party has been going downhill ever since the 1950s.
