One way to enter is to share an existing linguistics-y zine! - Give 'em out at picnics, conferences - Take-a-zine folder in a busy corridor - Pop a zine in the mail - Colour-in zines with a linguistics club - Add to a free zine shelf or little free library Or something else! Some zines to print:

lingthusiasm.comZinesZines that are enthusiastic about linguistics!  Share your linguistics enthusiasm with people in the physical world using zines!  Click on a zine cover to read it online, see extra bonus links, ...

Another way to enter is to make your own linguistics-y zine! - Your personal language experience - Something you've learned about linguistics from us, from a Wikipedia rabbit hole, from other lingcomm creators... We suggest this format if you're new to zines! lingthusiasm.com/post/8287575...

Either way, tell us about your zine-making and/or zine-sharing experience in this lil webform We're planning a special bonus Lingthusiasm episode with your stories, and hopefully some new zines up on the website as well! And yes, you can enter both ways! docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

We started the prize pool with 10 Lingthusiasm prizes: - Lingthusiasm zine multipacks in the mail - A year's free membership to the Lingthusiasm Patreon - T-shirt, mug, or other merch from the Lingthusiasm merch store - Signed first edition of Because Internet

Then some of our author friends-of-the podcast have generously chipped in copies of their books: - Why Q needs U by @dannybate.com - Useless Etymology by @jesszafarris.com (plus a shirt from the Words Unravelled store!) Why We Talk Funny and Like, Literally, Dude by Valerie Fridland There's MORE👀

So, uh, in case you were counting, this now gives us 22 prizes to give out? I sure hope we get at least 22 people entering the zines challenge, your odds are currently REALLY GOOD

Assuming at least 23 zine entries, how do we decide between them? We're gonna save some prizes for stories that are particularly cool, or heartwarming, or impressive, or idk otherwise distinctive And we're also giving out some prizes via random draw So no entry is too big or too small!!!

"Look I love the idea of supporting people to share their enthusiasm for linguistics through zines but tbh these days I've got more money than time, can I just like enable someone else to do it more?" Yes! We're adding an extra prize for every new or upgraded paid patron between today and Nov 30
