How else would you propose you make it clear to the whole country that under no circumstances should they use fire pits, BBQs etc at the minute. How else do you propose the severity is communicated? The news isn't going to cut it

It was warning us to be careful as the risk of wild fires is severe, which it is, but everyone's phones screeching at once felt disproportionate, or at least not very effective.
