Hey @governor.ca.gov: Any plans to sign the “Balcony Solar” bill (SB 868) into law before the 9/30 deadline? It’s been on your desk for weeks. CA renters should have an opportunity to cut ⚡️costs, reduce carbon emissions, and help the grid during peak usage. What’s the holdup?

kqed.orgCalifornia Officially Legalizes Balcony Solar, Opening the Market to the New Technology | KQEDGov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation to make it simpler for Californians to install plug-in solar panels. Models that meet state standards are expected to be on sale in mid-2027.

Any word about what's going on with this? There seems to be no reporting. Bizarre. But apparently if he doesn't veto it by the end of the day, it's law?

Yeah if he does nothing, it becomes law. (Which I only learned subsequent to this post.) I doubt he’ll veto; he may not see it consequential enough to highlight with a formal signing event. 🤷
