Lots of devil in the details of course but this seems like a very reasonable way to drive demand for clean power, putting the cost on entities that can certainly bear it.

I suspect this will just result in datacenters setting up shop in not-Massachusetts, so this is probably a win for Massachusetts residents but probably not as much as hoped for the planet

I do have some questions re: the governor’s authority to act here, but I think at this stage, I’ll consider those some of the details requiring additional attention.
