I know. I wrote a bunch of code for Mozilla NSS. And still use Firefox. I don't use Vivaldi because it is Chromium.

I don't feel FF failed me; it's just that Vivaldi in comparison offers a few more (small) features: - Sidebar: notes, translation, downloads, reading list, feeds, mail, calendar, Wikipedia - more widgets, particularly currency converter, better weather widget - bottom bar with some useful functions

- all customisation functions in a single settings window rather than spread over several menus - transparency/blur on tool and tab bars (which are also a bit more space efficient) - more elegant theme and colour controls They're small quality of life things, but important to me.

Mozilla has offices in multiple countries. I worked with many contributors abroad. If US-based is the argument, do realize that the Chromium code is Google, which is US-based. Most of it gets written here in Silicon Valley.

I have Ecosia for search. I like it it is European based. It's a bit vague on whether it uses Google search algorithim. Unfortunately, most search engines are vague about the association.
