Bolas probably won't be in this set. I think he was one of the things Jace specifically didn't copy (no eldrazi, phyrexia, bolas) and his OG version wasn't narratively significant here, unlike Emmy Rossum. Plus he's such an iconic villain, he'll probably be cropping up as the next era's big bad.

I'm really sad that the Echoverse lasted exactly one set. No wonder older players complain about the loss of blocks; Magic's storytelling is so rapid pace that nothing gets to exist.

the story was incredible. the set feels like they had to slam "the hexhaven set" together with "the echoverse conclusion set" to make room for a fourth Universe Beyond set in 2026

Yeah I see it now after more scrolling, but WOTC is historically very bad about updating the site. I shouldn‘t have to rely on a skeet to find a story segment. I don’t mind them doing two in a day!

the site does actually update immediately at 11 ET, but the caching is always really weird and stubborn—sometimes it takes upwards of 30 minutes for new articles to load. These days I use the direct links on the official discord's news channel, or from socials
