This enrages me so deeply I don't know what to say. Being able to control your body is *the* most basic freedom, one which is necessary for the exercise of all other freedoms possible in a liberal democratic society

Samuel Alito: We won't overturn Obergefell because it's engendered reliance interests. Jan Crawford: Well, many people had organized their lives around Roe v. Wade. Alito: No, they didn't. Women merely had an "abstract" interest in "ideas about the kind of society that they were going to live in."

The right to life would be first but bodily autonomy is right behind it. I only mention this because we have a government that doesn't believe in the right to life either unless you're a fetus.

Women and the men who support them either refuse or do not have the capacity to protest at the level of a general strike which is essential given this rhetoric. This won’t change anytime soon.

You want to control your body. And Alito wants to control your body. If I were Solomon, I would suggest cleaving your body in two and giving you both one half….and the waiting to see who objects.

His is just talk. This court has shown us who they are. He may not rule to overturn Obergefell, but his replacement? The majority of this court would rule in favor of a nationwide abortion ban, rule against Mifepristone, etc.. To sum, this majority would most certainly rule to overturn Obergefell.

Wow all the living I’ve been doing for the past 56 years and it turns out it was all just abstract. Thanks for the mansplanation, you boil on the butt of humanity.

Under this logic, it would be fine to reverse Lawrence v Texas because the people affected only had an abstract interest in a living in a society where consensual adult sex is not criminalized. So you can jail gay people, but not forcibly void their marriages.

Alito simply is not an honest person. He has no integrity whatsoever. He’s an activist for the christofascist movement, nothing more. It’s his legacy. Anything he says to attempt to justify his taking away the rights of people should be ridiculed.

Wow...please don't assume you know ANYTHING about the experience of being a woman. We do not live in the "abstract". We live with the reality and responsibility of the power to create life. You know NOTHING about the agony and ecstasy of making choices around that.

He should be forced to hold the hand of a dying woman bleeding out in a hospital parking lot who was refused life-saving care because doing a D&C that would stop the bleeding from her miscarriage is considered to be an abortion that's illegal in many states. He can tell her it's all abstract.

What you can do is donate to get rid of Susan Collins, phone bank for Troy Jackson, vote for D’s get people to vote D up and down the ballot whoever your representatives are let them know you disagree with this and expand the court impose term limits
