I've only been to the North American Cartographic Information Society (NACIS) conference once but it is now my favorite group of human beings. Kind nerds who glide effortlessly between math and poetry. My workshop has been accepted and I'll see you lovely people in Milwaukee!

Do you have to be a member to show up for such a thing?

I'm not sure. @nacis.bsky.social? Regardless, I highly recommend checking out the @nacis-atlas.bsky.social which collects all the year's best maps!

I've been making maps for a while. I'm okay at it. Never thought I could run with the big dogs at NACIS. Now that I'm a map store owner I get to hang out with these rock stars and realize they're actually so committed to education and mentorship I could have been hanging out with them years ago.

The kindest, most helpful, lets-sit-together-at-lunch group of people I’ve ever met!
