Everytime that I think I understand Pythons virtual environment. They then confuse the living hell out of me. Anyone able to tell me whether virtual environments hold onto .env key/values in some sort of cache?

Ahh man, just figured out what's happening. Virtual enviroment. 🤦‍♂️ Still need to get used to Python and venvs.
