Would you like apply this to.. every kind of plugin or is there a specific area where you feel it would be cool?

Everything.

Everywhere. Fixed something with duct tape? It’s a mod. Upgraded your dish with some coriander? It’s a mod. Pushed code straight to prod? It’s a mod!

I get it. It's a mod.

But then if it's a CSS mod it should be called a skin, _à la winamp_

Let’s just agree not to do DLCs
