That thread has existed for centuries. It's why Shakespeare had the rebel Jack Cade say, "First thing we do, we kill all the lawyers!" There's always a distrust of those who know things by those who don't. And yet they often trust religious leaders, who fit in the group of those who know things.

Democracy gives everyone a voice, not every opinion equal credibility. Knowledge and critical thinking still matter.

Truth!!! The uneducated, have always been intimidated by the educated. Too many of their actions are intended to mask their insecurities and boost their egos. This is what a failed education system produces.
