I just did a very deep dive on several biomedical companies who developed closed, proprietary AI platforms to help identify and then screen hundreds of millions of new theoretical compounds/molecules to treat diseases. Fascinating use case for discovery. Notably, these weren't LLMs.

The only thing Ai should be used for is medicine. But our backwards dystopian nightmare gov enjoys the harm they cause.

talk to any parent with a dipg kid. not rare but rare enough that not enough doctors know about it. so the parents find the other parents who know and educate the doctors. you dont need ai. you need the human network

If only that were how they were marketed. And how they were being used in the corporate world.

The problem is the public can't handle facts like vaccines. I did my own research is not viable for most of the public. Perhaps a new occupation of AI research assistant should be created to do this on behalf of the general public?

This is a great story. And I’m glad it worked out for these folks and their kid.

If you use AI as a research *assistant*, it's great. If you use it as your primary researcher, it's *terrible*.
