But why does my jam session with my friends need to be connected with my Bluesky identity? There are some unadressed privacy issues here I feel like.

It's not your Bluesky identity. It's your atmosphere ID, which need not have anything to do with Bluesky.

This still carries the privacy issues Philip mentioned, doesn’t it?

No? I mean until spaces launches everything you do on ATproto is public. So the only privacy issue is not realizing that. But once spaces launches then you can have more control over your own data. What privacy issues do you envision when you control your own data?

@masnick.com with bluesky replacing Google. that's a bad thing. the web has added lots of capabilities over time. we didn't have to reinvent anything. the same thing was happening slowly with social with #ActivityPub until AT jumped the line with a boost from VC.

@wjmaggos.liberal.city.ap.brid.gy

I get that you like to yell at me ignorantly about your near total unwillingness to understand how anything works. But it doesn't make you right. Just ignorant and confused.

@masnick.com why insult me? just say I'm wrong. we want people to be able to do that on social media, right? what I'm posting is nothing worse than what you say about other people and businesses all the time. am I magically less ignorant when I boost you?
