AI continues to feel like an ouroboros to me, the snake that bites its own tail. Whatever gains are perceived/assumed/purported are then outweighed by the increased effort required to manage whatever those gains product as output.

The algorithmic (can we still even call them social?) platforms give us tools to create an abundance of meaning- and soulless posts with equally unappealing imagery only to then consider the consequences for their platform's waning appeal to humans. www.msn.com/en-us/techno...

I wouldn't consider myself an AI doomsperson. That is stuff for the Marvel universe. Though the signs are certainly there that one could feel that doom. You could of course say that all of this was predictable. What bothers me the most though, is the human impact of all of this.

If anything, AI slop may contribute to dividing folks on social media platforms even further. On the other hand, it may also contribute to us realising how important human connection is. Maybe it offers us a counterbalance and an appreciation for the people around us, seeking conversation instead.
