So if you're dictating the signature of the function def f(*args): ... You just say “def F args”?

I wouldn't say star or asterisk if I'm referring to the concept of "args and kwargs" in general, or more informally. Say I'm talking about `.__new__()` and I'd say you'd "include args and kwargs", I feel that it's clear in that context

Yep same. And before you ask "star-star-keyword args" Which is interesting because sometimes I use mainframe terminology and refer to "star" as "splat", but not in Python.
