Post

A friend said to me after seeing my recent social media posts: “Unemployment suits you.” I agree. Anyway, new hero for my memory allocation post. You can have a play at staging.samwho.dev/memory-alloc... if you want.

No, and just now it occurs to me I didn’t post about it. Eep, sorry. Nothing dramatic, I got an offer elsewhere I really couldn’t turn down. It was sad to part ways when things were going so well, but I think the content team at ngrok is still extremely strong. I’ll be joining Laravel in November.

I have mixed feelings. I love your work and I think you do a very important service for our field. On the other hand, Laravel... lol

Tell me more! What’re your trepidations about Laravel?

Congrats! Laravel do be snatching up the cream of the crop in lots of different areas. I’m pretty psyched to see what you cook up. @aaronfrancis.com’ll be your boss? He’s busy on X, could say anything you want lol.

Haha, yes, I’ll be reporting to Aaron. My role will still be making the best blog posts I possibly can. I was tempted to make some joke about Aaron here but truth is we had a chance to work together years ago and it didn’t work out. I couldn’t let that happen again. He’s the best at what he does.
