Is it just me or is it becoming clear: the very wealthy see that citizens are going to increasingly demand equity on several fronts, and advocate the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes. Wealthy are greedy & happy to lurch towards authoritarianism to keep the middle and lower classes in place.

The truly fucked up thing is the Trump family is perhaps the greatest living argument against the concept of inherited wealth the world has ever seen. Left to their own devices, this is a family of used car salesmen.

Capitalism incentivises and rewards greed. It has to keep growing or it will die so it ends up growing for the sake of it's own survival and THAT, dear friends, is cancer. An equitable society would still allow people to build wealth, it just wouldn't allow that wealth to be used a weapon.

I witnessed the end of a martial law dictatorship in the Philippines in 1986. Moved back to Texas later that year when the GOP hated russia. Now, the republican party has turned into what they have despised in the past. Basically.
