Katy ISD near Houston unveiled one of the most detailed grade-by-grade AI frameworks from any large US district. Nearly 100,000 students. K-6: AI chatbots banned. 7th: supervised district-approved tools only. 8th-12th: AI for specific purposes with teacher authorization, must cite AI use.
