I had this exact conversation with my doctor this spring. Fortunately I knew where my childhood vaccination records were stored (most were handwritten and nurse signed on card stock) and was able to verify. And have the clinic make copies for my record. This is not most folks' experience, though.

If you’re lucky enough to be able to get vaccinated, make sure you have gotten the right number of shots. Many “gen x” aged people were only given one shot when it’s now know that you need 2 for full protection. www.cdc.gov/measles/vacc...
