Opus just wrote me a script without using any of my coding, docs, and review procedures. I asked why, it said "I treated them as optional, even though it says _always_". This is in Claude Code. I don't think it ever did that in Pi via API. 🤔

"always" in a prompt file is a vibe, not a rule. the stuff i actually need ended up in a pre-commit hook so it can't opt out

Same shift here. Through the API your procedures sit in the system prompt, and the model weighs them like tool contracts. In Claude Code they are session context among the rest, and recency beats them. An output style brought the binding feel back for me, those inject into the system prompt.
