So what he's saying is, people's right to speak out against marriage equality is more important than the actual right to equality itself? This is even dumber than I thought.

What do you mean it makes them "seem" like they support discrimination? Do they support it or not? If not, what are they upset about? And if so, they're bigots and they can kick rocks.
