I learned about the festival of Sukkot over 30 years ago in the middle of Kansas in a Methodist church with a very progressive minister. He set up a sukkah in the front of the church. Thank you for the reminder of such a lovely tradition.

Not sure, but weren’t the protesters blocking traffic. I think protesting is okay, but not if it breaks laws. Good trouble. Mamdani had said that he did not have the legal power to arrest Netanyahu. These are terrible times. There were a lot of Jewish folks protesting, let’s wish them well.

Mamdani has no power over that arrest, as he’s noted & lamented many times. Not all Jews support Netanyahu, just as not all Americans support Trump. Being against genocide isn’t the same as being antisemitic. It’s proper for a mayor to wish a large part of his constituency well on their holy day.
