I've seen this so many times: No one hates free speech more than a senior academic who is facing criticism. You don't get to decide where criticism appears. Newspapers, blogs, twitter, all fine in their own ways. Every scandal isn't a media scandal.

Yes, I guess so. They tap into our pro-nature bias, so many people, even MDs, really wish that their theories are true even when 30 years of evidence gathering shows the opposite.

What's especially funny is this researcher has a podcast for the public that debates vaccine controversies. Why isn't she leaving this to the scientific literature?
