Migration does not have to be what it is now Innovation can change what migration *is*—more orderly, skilled, integrated, & tangibly beneficial to everyone affected In 2012 I proposed one way: Global Skill Partnerships The World Bank just released a major GSP roadmap—> hdl.handle.net/10986/42780

In a GSP, destination countries get urgently-needed workers with the right skills to maximize their contribution on arrival Origin countries get *more* human capital—not a 'drain'—with training and technology transfers Innovation can target and address people's legitimate concerns about migration

Today a group of visionaries around the world are working to build GSPs. Not giving up. Not hiding their heads in the sand. Doing the hard work of building institutions for a better world. It's possible. And it is only possible with your excellence and dedication. Thank you.

Thank you Iffath Sharif and your fantastic team for inviting me to talk at the World Bank yesterday. Global Skill Partnerships were just a dream on my whiteboard 12 years ago. Now you’re building them. The world needs your bold and brilliant leadership. 👏👏👏 blogs.worldbank.org/...
