The truth is that his parents-in-law made the United States stronger by choosing to invest their talents in America’s future, massively benefiting all of us, as international students typically do. I’m grateful to them. So I don’t know why he would level such accusations at his own family.

Also, Vance's claim about "investing in our own people" would only make sense if he were, well, investing in education, rather than participating in an administration that is slashing funding for the NSF, NEH, IOH, etc. and attacking universities.
