More authoritarian power in action: Arkansas just got the green light to prosecute librarians if kids can access books politicians call “harmful.” Jail time or big fines for doing their jobs. Increasing state censorship over what people are allowed to read. 😡 www.newsweek.com/librarians-f...

Politicians are not educated about literature unless it is about money and power. First they make ignorant rules for MDs, now for books that, had they read them, they might not be so narrow, racist, misogynist and thinking they "know it all."

Good grief. When I was growing up in the 50s and 60s no one gave a flip about what I was reading. The big issue I recall was skirts. I wasn’t allowed wear slacks or jeans to class until I was in college. In HS the length of my skirts was tightly regulated.

Yeah, I remember we demanded that we could wear pants on the very first Earth Day, since they wanted us to plan flowers on the front lawn. We new which (male) teachers would be standing behind us, watching, if we wore our usual dresses/skirts to bend down and do the planting. Perverts.
