That "always-on preview" is exactly what full-screen apps like Calimoto and Scenic sometimes fumble mid-ride. I've been putting Scenic through its paces myself lately, decent on route quality but not always great at recalculating when you miss a turn. Be curious how the Moto II handles that.

And the topological maps certainly beat Calimoto. Here with some live traffic info. (Paid features.)

The new desktop map planning app brings it closer to Calimoto for planning. I'm missing POIs as overlays but the (paid) 3D terrain maps and live traffic could be the thing that clinches it for me.

It's better than the original which just gave you a direction, which causes problems at complex junctions, but I'd still want to know what junctions are coming up so I'm aware that cars could be pulling out.
