Trump’s DOJ has charged James Comey AGAIN, this time under the Espionage Act over a 2016 New York Times story. In DOJ’s own words, Comey had staff talk to a reporter to “correct misinformation” in a Reuters article.

Comey: Well, they're back again. It would almost be funny if it weren't such an appalling abuse of the DOJ. One that we cannot become numb to. Nothing's changed with me. I'm still innocent. I'm still not afraid of these people. And I still believe in the independent federal judiciary.

They filed the charges on the last day of the 10-year deadline and skipped the grand jury. Comey is already moving to dismiss, arguing the extended deadline only applies to indictments

It’s hard for me to feel bad for him because we would not have had the nightmare of a Trump presidency if he had not broken protocol and given Trump an October surprise and fucked over Hillary with empty innuendo.

If only... He would disclose on whose orders he tanked Hillary right before the elections with a nothing burger.

This is certainly not what he envisioned when he threw the election in Trump’s favor by starting that bogus probe against Hilleary. That was the final nail in our coffin, never forget. Hope he wins bc it’s Trump but ultimately, f**k him forever.

According to Deadline Whitehouse, (paraphrasing a discussion w/Lisa Rubin & Andrew Weissman), Comey agreed to have the charges filed (bypassing grand jury need) to get them out faster, moved to unseal them to make them public, & also moved to have them dismissed. Because charges are so frivolous.
