Hey @jasonventer.bsky.social -- cheers for mentioning N+ in your article ( www.polygon.com/best-graphic... ); we appreciate both the general sentiment (games are so much more than gfx), and also that you think our work belongs in that list. However: the screenshot you used is actually from N++. ;)

since: (a) in our humble opinion, N++ fits well on that list too (b) sadly N+ is no longer available/accessible in any format -- but N++ is very much still a going concern! we'd really appreciate it if you could link to N++. Polygon even has some previous articles about it! No worries if not. <3

Well.. technically that version of the game isn't the one mentioned in the article. ;) (In our opinion, sadly, the DS/PSP versions of N+ were quite inferior to the XBLA version -- not coincidentally, we weren't very involved in the handheld versions.) (But also: you can't buy N+ DS, beyond used.)

The simplicity of the graphics in N+ made it super memorable for me. Unrelated, but I’m struggling to understand why FF IX is on this list. That game is gorgeous. The pre-rendered backgrounds are nothing short of art.
