2 of the surprises (to me) moving from Mpls to the suburb: 1) The hard water is REALLY hard. It is no joke. 2) Contracted waste hauling is abject extortion. My latest bill from @republicservices might be > comparable svc from City Mpls.

WHY is my bill from @republicservices.bsky.social so chaotic, unpredictable? I called, asked: "what's this fuel recovery surcharge?" Them: "It's just a % add on. And it can vary." Me: "It's 60%! added on to the contracted price?! Wth?" 🥴 Them: "Yes. But maybe it'll be lower next time." 🎲 🎲
