In 2023 I flew coast-to-coast in the US. Departing, a TSA agent announced "don't unpack laptops and phones: it's not 2001, our machines can see what they are." On the trip back, I asked: "Laptops in or out?". The agent said "Sir, a little thing called 9/11 happened, maybe you've heard of it?"
