It is a monument to how little the safety of ordinary people was and is considered. They were told there was a problem over many years but did nothing. Still happening today remember Grenfell or the lack of plans in place for Pandemic.

My most vivid memory of Aberfan was the reporter from the BBC in tears. All those children smothered in wet black slag.
