Jokic deserves MVP Shai deserves MVP I've literally been swayed back and forth on the NBA MVP debate several times in the last week, to the point where this is the first year I'd be totally cool with 2 players sharing co-MVP... even though I know it won't happen 😭

One guy has an All-Star team around him. The other guy finished top three in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. In the history of the NBA no one has finished top 10 in all four categories before this season. There should be no debate.

Thunder are still a playoff team without Shai, the nuggets would have some of the best odds for winning the #1 pick in the draft lottery if they didn’t have Jokic. Case closed.

Jokic has the wildest advanced stat ever going on for him: with him on court the Nuggets have the best offensive rating (125.8) and without him they have the worst in history (86.3). How do you argue against that? 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😅

I’d try this. Which team would still be at there current standing WITHOUT Joke or Shai? Without that player if they’d drop then that should be the MVP. I’d go with Shai. No one wants to see them early

Peyton Manning and Steve McNair split it in 03. Would be cool to see in the NBA. Crazy MVP race this year. Giannis is somehow an afterthought in spite of the crazy season he’s been having 😂

Shai is better than Jokic defensively moreso than Jokic is better than Shai offensively. Shai should win. (I say this as a Suns fan who thinks Nash's second MVP honestly should've gone to Garnett for the same reason)

The best team argument is not valid. Embid won MVP when Denver had the best record. Jokic won WCF and Finals MVP. It's not hard to overlook the 3-point scoring difference when you compare both. The bottom line is that Jokic is a much better player than Shai.

SGA is the mvp. He does not have to lead his team in every stat - or the league. His team is record setting and players are empowered. Kobe, 5 titles, 12 All Def teams, numerous All NBA Teams and 2 Finals MVPs. 1 league MVP, Shaq has a similar resume and 1 MVP. I hope SGA wins, his team is better.

People will look back and marvel at Jokic not winning this year. Shai has been incredible but Jokic has been unprecedented. But it wouldn't be his first stolen MVP.

When General Jokic is on the floor the Nuggets have one of the best offensive ratings. When he is on the bench it literally is flipped to the worst. Thunder were 5-1 in games Shai didn't play. The nuggets don't even make the play in without Joker.

Same. I think Jokic is individually more impressive, but Shai is a better representation of the season's story. Best player in the best team is a cliche, but when that player is this good, I don't mind it

Well, not really. Going by vibes, I much prefer Jokic's game (or Giannis even). Shai has both counting and advanced stats. OKC has the best Net rtg and a top 7 record all-time. That is a pretty solid objective argument. Shai will win bc he has the narrative case on top of a good statistical case

Shai is carrying an incredible young team that lost one of its best pkayer for half the season and still put up 68 wins. I love Jokic, and he had an epic year again, but Shai carried that team.
