Here's a quick thread about the time I repaired a flaw in our floor. It's 2020. Lockdown is in full effect & after a few months of us all being in the same room & both kids bouncing around, a sizeable divot appears in the middle of our lounge/dining room. So, I decide to take a look... #DIY

I didn't have the patience or the time to move out all of our furniture, especially while working from home. We've been meaning to replace the carpet for ages now, so I made the decision to cut it right down the middle. Here's a photo of the underlay, with a bonus mysterious stain - exciting!

Well, well, well... What's this? I assumed the dents in the floor were from damaged floorboards BUT it turns out that when one of the previous owners had the two rooms knocked together, whoever took the wall out, filled the gap with what appears to be a concrete lintel or mortar maybe?

You can *just* make out some names. Sam? Jane? Whoever they are I hope they're doing better than this floor they put down... Only joking! I hope they're doing terribly.
