I will admit that I have reached a point where I'm blocking anyone who is even mildly annoying to me re: politics. Not because they're bad, or they shouldn't be doing what they're doing (god knows plenty of productive things annoy me for various reasons) but b/c we're on different paths & that's ok!

😭 needed to see this little thread bc I stepped out with a political thing today and got kind of nipped at by someone I know and respect but who wants my political thing to be a different thing and is just really really underwhelmed by me and need me to understand that, like, all the way.

Oh no that's so hard!!!! There is so much to be doing right now, that if someone is picking up the slack anywhere I'm just grateful to them. But we are also all worn RAW and I think friendly fire is more common than usual. 💓

Yes. This person has legit been doing the work since before I was born (and I’m 44), and it’s upsetting to underwhelm someone like that. But also — I’m a grownup myself & the thing I’m doing that she’s underwhelmed by is considered, on purpose, and emotionally exhausting. So it hurt that she was 🫤
