Don't sleep with your employees. Don't sleep with people when you have the power to fire them. Don't sleep with young idealistic people who could face longterm career damage if they say no and you don't like it. If you do any of that, I will never think you can be trusted with power. Ever.

At the VERY minimum, this guy is an adulterer who used his position of power to act inappropriately with women he had power over. That's the most charitable possible characterization.

100% It's just....a stink you can never ever ever ever ever wash off. Even if everyone says its consensual it's still at bare minimum you being a bad leader and can't be trusted in a position of leadership/power.

Corporate America makes us take annual loooong and condescending classes on this and clarifying the problems of dating someone higher than yourself Definitly no room to say "oh i didn't realize" and other excuses prople make.

"yes" is meaningless if "no" isn't consequence-free. there is no true consent if your job (your HEALTH INSURANCE, SOMETIMES) could be at risk if someone doesn't like that you said no. and we ALL have learned how fast a guy can flip around on you if he doesn't like hearing no.

This is what has bothered me about the discourse on this. It is indefensible that he a sexual relationship with her in the first place. That is disqualifing enough. That she has credible claims of sexual assault makes it a crime as well.
