Surprise! When I'm not gardening or chaotically escalating madcap adventures, I write books with my BFF @totallydonna.kitrocha.com! Our newest book is out June 16th. It's the 4th in a quartet of very horny romantasy about how tech bros suck. Learn more about it here: www.kitrocha.com/202...

I spent a week hyperfocusing on making a video trailer before Consort of Fire came out. And then I, you know, never really thought about it again. But you gotta admit, it's a very melodramatic trailer!!!

Throw back to when we announced the series with our usual subtlety. www.kitrocha.com/202...

I had an extremely quirky but real worldbuilding reason for putting west at the top of the original map. But the strong and immediate horror at a world gone mad that I got from map fans is what made me keep doing it. lololol www.kitrocha.com/202...

There clearly must be an in-world reason why the maps "orient" to the west! Curious if you've written a canonical reason they do? My brain is still reeling imagining the orbital path and rotational wobble of George RR Martin's Westeros' planet, assuming it's not infinite turtles or such instead.

the first map is of a country where the Dragon god lords over/protects them all from the west, which is therefore the top of their map. it doesn't really work for the rest of the countries but I decided to commit because I'm a troll & for consistency. LOL

If the country of the Dragon god lords was the best at cartography, and the other countries imported maps from there to learn about the wider world, then it makes total sense for the western orientation to be standard! E.g. our world and the southern hemisphere.
