What about data centers is making folks so mad they forget to even be racist??? Like??? Are the tech CEOs just this off-putting? Are we all just this exhausted of rich fuckers? I still want to understand.

As someone whose parents have fracking happening on 3 sides of their house that’s so remote it’s almost 40 minutes to the next gas station, I can say that having that kind of noise & light & air pollution 24/7 is viscerally upsetting in a way few other things I’ve experienced are.

Yeah I figured people had driven past one and heard a fair share of horror stories, but that is maybe giving them too much credit. Could be the threat of the power bill going way up is enough, but maybe it’s more likely there’s some primal hatred this is triggering
