I think the polls are absolute bullshit because I have no idea what anyone in this country will do in the next 12 hours much less in November. But I also am gonna run at these midterms screaming with 100% conviction that we can win. Not that we will. But we can! But there's a trick to that.

I won't give up if we don't. I'm not believing that Magic Will Happen and we'll win. I believe it's always worth trying 172% because what the fuck is the alternative? Lay down like a quitter?? It's not in me, man. I'd rather get caught trying. And then I'll get up and try again.

I kind of hate the "Lucy and the football" metaphor for things like Blue Texas and shit because I feel like that implies we're suckers and fools for trying. Fuck that, kick with everything in you every fucking time. By the time we hit that ball our leg is gonna be titanium. 😂

The problem is not that we believe we can do it. The problem is that too many people get excited it will happen but don't do any work to make sure it does, and then they have to perform extra cynicism to get past their embarrassment at acting like they believed in something.

And frankly, my fellow white people, we don't get to be quitters. This is our fucking mess.
