I don’t totally disagree. Just wondering if they more so are cowards. That having the voters make the call (albeit time to tell if Russian/Musk hacked) was their version of “go ask your mom”. And when finally push comes to shovel they’ll do the right thing. Perhaps just wishful thinking.
