The recent review of Canada's Indo-Pacific strategy by the #FAAECommittee (www.ourcommons.ca/Content/Comm...) omitted an important commitment made by #Canada in its first iteration: the full implementation of the next phase of Canada’s Rohingya Strategy.

Despite the ongoing #Rohingya displacement crisis across Myanmar, Bangladesh, Malaysia and beyond, Canada let its Rohingya Strategy expire in 2024 with no publicly shared plans to renew or launch a new phase.

As one of the largest providers of humanitarian medical care to displaced Rohingya people, MSF continues to witness first-hand the impacts of global inaction on this crisis. Canada's engagement on the Indo-Pacific should not overlook the region's humanitarian needs.
