Announcing my new book about A11Y! ♿ When I first started as a web developer I didn't know anything about best practices for UX Only after guidance from many wonderful people have I improved; I want to share that ☺️ A11Y is a basic right and improves products for us all 🚀

🌐 Introducing: The Art of Accessibility! Our brand-new book teaches you everything to do with accessibility! With a vast array of technologies and methods of providing valuable experiences to all users, it's easier than ever to design better, more inclusive products.

Thanks for this resource I've been trying my best with A11Y practices, regularly using the chromium accessibility tree tools Do you know how that stacks up to the way screen readers interact with the page, and do you recommend using a screen reader for A11Y web dev?

Think of it like the DOM. Both it and the A11Y tree are generated from HTML, but different vendors (Browsers and Screenreaders) use that data differently In the end, nothing beats manual testing. I'll have a chapter for testing tools as the final chapter of "Art of A11Y" but NVDA/Voiceover is free

I'll keep an eye on this book as you add to it, but in the meantime I think I'll start using NVDA
