what do you mean by “neutral”? Smith comes off as someone that follows the evidence and applies the law — with no prejudices. Isn’t that “neutral”?

I agree with you assessment of Smith. What I don't want is someone to be selected because they are perceived to be politically pallitable.

i think i know what allison meant, i’ve been listening to her from the beginning. i just think she didn’t really mean “neutral” as a bad thing. she likely wants someone aggressive and courageous, but likely fair and impartial (neutral) too
