Is this mainly for CSS use, or design tools too? As designers, we usually pick colors first (H), then adjust saturation, etc. Second question, how would you make a less saturated version of this using the sliders?

It’s a web centric color picker matching the capabilities of the browser; designers and developers can use it. If the space you’ve chosen is lch or oklch, C (chroma) will adjust what you’re used to using as saturation. Or pick hsl and you can adjust saturation in the limited sRGB gamut

Adjusting the chroma adds more gray where normally I’d want more white. Just sayin’! Interesting execution though.
