One reason this moment is happening is because Reconstruction was halted after the Civil War, emboldening The Daughters of the Confederacy and growth of the KKK. Even after the Civil Rights movement, these racist mindsets never went away, but if we let them get away with murder, where does it end?

What stops DHS from shooting protesters using fully automatic weapons, killing everyone, destroying their cell phones, and having the FBI take over the investigation, and destroying any remaining evidence? The time to stop this escalation is now, because DHS surely wants it to escalate even further.
